Search

Search

Press Ctrl+Shift+F to search everything, or use the search box in the sidebar.

Modes

  • All words — every word must appear somewhere in the item.
  • Any words — at least one word appears.
  • Exact phrase — the words appear together, in order.
  • Wildcard — use * to stand for any letters.

Searching for dragon also finds dragons and dragonfire, because search matches from the start of a word. To match inside a word, use a wildcard: *dragon finds underdragon.

Narrowing

Search everything, one project, one book, or one area such as Research or a single worldbuilding category. Advanced options adds case sensitivity, whole words, and searching file names and tags.

Getting to the words

Clicking a result opens the chapter and takes you to the words. The find bar opens carrying what you searched for, the first match is selected and scrolled into view, and the arrows step through the rest of the matches in that chapter.

Within a single document, Ctrl+F does the same thing without the search: find and replace, with case and whole-word options.
