Revisions

Autosave and revisions are different things, and QuillArk does both.

Autosave keeps the file on disk current, so you never lose the last few minutes.

Revisions are snapshots of whole versions. QuillArk takes one automatically when you have been writing for a while and something has genuinely changed, when you close a document, and always before anything replaces your text.

Comparing and restoring

Open Revisions in the right sidebar. Pick any two versions to see exactly what changed, word by word.

Restoring never destroys anything. Before an older version is put back, your current text is saved as a new revision, so you can undo the restore itself.

Where they live

Revisions are Markdown files in the project’s .quillark/revisions folder, named by date. Even without QuillArk, your history is a folder of readable text files.
