Please do not send screenshots containing your health data. Body measurements, medical conditions and lab results are yours, and nothing about diagnosing a bug requires them. If a screenshot helps, cover the figures — the layout is what matters.
Reporting a problem
What helps most:
- Which platform and version — Settings shows both.
- What you did, what happened, and what you expected instead.
- Whether it happens every time or only sometimes.
There is no crash reporting in the application, by design: nothing is sent anywhere without you doing it. That means a problem I cannot reproduce is a problem I only hear about if you tell me.
Common questions
Where is my data?
On your device, in a database only this application reads. The exact folder for each platform is listed on the download page. There is no server and no account, so there is nowhere else it could be.
How do I move to a new device?
Settings → Backup → Back up now writes a single file holding your database and every photo. Copy it across and use Restore from a backup on the other device.
I restored a backup and something looks stale.
Close the application and open it again. The restore replaces the database underneath a running process, and a few screens can still be holding what they read a moment earlier.
Will an update overwrite what I have entered?
No. Exercises you create, measurements you rename, plans you build and anything you edit are marked as yours, and content updates skip them. Updates add and correct the bundled library; they do not touch your own records.
Does it work offline?
Entirely. The exercise library, the food database and every calculation are on the device. There is nothing to be offline from unless you switch on the online food lookup, which is off until you do.
Why does Windows warn me about the installer?
It is not signed with a code-signing certificate. Those cost several hundred pounds a year, and this application is free. The published SHA-256 checksum lets you verify the download is exactly what was released, which is a stronger check than a certificate anyway.
Is this medical software?
No. It records what you enter and does arithmetic on it. It does not diagnose, does not interpret lab results, and does not adjust anything because of a health condition you have recorded. Where it estimates something it says so and names the method. Talk to a clinician about anything medical.
Something in the app looks wrong.
Please tell me, particularly if a number looks wrong. Every figure in the application is meant to be traceable to something you recorded, and a figure that is not is a bug worth fixing quickly.
